Photoroom is the more direct candidate when a documented native Shopify publishing route is mandatory. Claid is a candidate when enhancement, photoshoots and a separately scoped API or Zapier workflow are the main requirements.

- Main limitation
- Photoroom: Pro excludes Shopify and video. Shopify publishing is one-way: it overwrites the live catalog, while Shopify-side edits do not sync back.
- Claid: Batch processing and brand kits require Pro or Business. Video-credit rates conflict between official pricing and help, so no video allowance is asserted.
Entry prices can cover different workloads and omit the feature you need. The profile notes show plan dependencies, limits and any unconfirmed currency.
Open the full comparison tableStart with the integration you need
Photoroom documents native Shopify catalog publishing on Max and Ultra. Claid documents a Shopify workflow through Zapier and offers a separate API. Those methods have different setup and subscription requirements; an automation connection should not be presented as a native app.
Both products also support browser image workflows. If your team already uploads finished assets manually, judge the editing and review process before treating integration breadth as the deciding factor.
Separate entry pricing from production pricing
Photoroom Pro lists $12.99 monthly, while Shopify-connected Max starts at $34.99 monthly. Pro’s 8,000 AI credits and 1,000 exports are different limits. The inspected source displayed dollar prices without an established ISO currency.
Claid Essential is US$15 monthly for 500 credits. A standard AI Photoshoot uses four credits, allowing up to 125 such generations if the entire allowance is spent on that operation. Pro is US$49 monthly for 2,000 credits. Batch processing and brand kits require Pro or Business.
Automation is a separate buying decision
Claid’s API is separately purchased. Include any Zapier or implementation requirements when planning an automated flow. Public video-credit information conflicted between pricing and help, so this comparison does not promise a video allowance.
Photoroom’s app plans and API are also separate. Its native Shopify publishing is one-way, overwriting the live catalog without syncing Shopify-side edits back. Review the source of truth for images before using it in an ongoing catalog process.
Evaluate a complete batch
Use a representative batch with consistent final dimensions and naming needs. Test a normal item, small packaging text, transparent material and a reflective product. Record whether accepted images look consistent together, not only whether each one looks impressive.
- Require the exact plan that supports your batch and publishing needs.
- Record retries, corrections and accepted exports separately.
- Count manual review and transfer time alongside credits.
- Verify that labels, product shape and included items remain accurate.
How to use this recommendation
These findings describe documented capabilities as checked on 30 September 2026. They are not measured image-quality or production-speed results. Choose a small trial that reproduces your catalog workflow before making a wider commitment.
