Both belong on a Shopify or WooCommerce shortlist for shopper assistance and support. The key purchasing checks are the required operations, human-support setup and how your workload translates into conversations versus outbound AI replies.

- Main limitation
- Tidio Lyro: Free 50 conversations are one-off. The Shopify listing's 'up to 200' wording does not establish 200 at the base price; main-site entry quota is 50. Some custom product-page data is unreadable.
- Zipchat: A reply is not a conversation. Each store normally needs its own plan; integration-specific action coverage must be checked.
Entry prices can cover different workloads and omit the feature you need. The profile notes show plan dependencies, limits and any unconfirmed currency.

Tidio Lyro documents FAQs, recommendations and configured order-related operations. Native recommendations use supported Shopify or WooCommerce catalog information; some custom product-page data cannot be read.
Zipchat combines recommendations with tracking, discounts and configured order actions on Shopify and WooCommerce. Script installation on a different website does not establish the same order-action coverage. Check the platform and action together.
The headline quotas are not equivalent
Tidio’s researched paid Lyro entry point includes 50 recurring conversations. The Shopify listing showed US$39 monthly or US$390 annually, while the main pricing page showed US$32.50 monthly on annual billing. The free 50-conversation allowance does not recur.
Zipchat Starter is US$80 monthly, or US$768 annually, and includes 750 outbound AI replies. An extra 250-reply pack is US$49. Several replies may occur in one conversation, so the larger numeric allowance does not prove a larger complete-case capacity.
Include the store and human workflow
Zipchat normally requires a separate plan for each store. That matters if you operate several storefronts rather than one. Confirm store-level packaging alongside the reply forecast.
With Tidio, identify the particular Lyro, human-support and workflow components you need. Then check the escalation behavior and action configuration. For both candidates, the person receiving a handoff needs sufficient context to complete the request.
A useful evaluation set
Use the same product recommendation, order-status question, discount request, return-policy edge case and human-escalation request. Record the final outcome and count the product’s actual charged events. Do not infer monthly cost from a generic replies-per-conversation assumption.
- Confirm which catalog fields are available to the agent.
- Verify each order action on the selected platform.
- Keep store count and mandatory support components in the estimate.
- Compare policy adherence separately from conversational fluency.
What we can recommend from research
The documentation supports comparing both for these tasks, but not declaring an output-quality or resolution-rate winner. The information was checked on 30 September 2026. A pilot using your knowledge, catalog and escalation rules is the next evidence needed.
